in general, the research shows pretty clearly two milligrams per kilogram body weight over 15 minutes seems to put you in a pretty good spot. Most people don't think about kilograms or milliliters. So can I just run that over, and then turns out it's about your body weight divided by 30 in ounces.
The Galpin equation states that you should take your body weight in pounds, divide that by 30, and that will give you the number of ounces of fluid to ingest every 15 to 20 minutes on average while exercising.
And there there's a simple translation of the Galpin equation, which is that you need approximately 2 milliliters of water per kilogram of body weight, every 15 to 20 minutes.
