almonds are again held up as a very valuable thing or a health food and I think that really almonds are a plant seed and plants don't want their seats to get eaten I talk about all of this in the book how we've got the perspective completely wrong with regard to plants and plants are often much more toxic than we believe them to be and so when you make a milk or a beverage out of almonds it's full of things that really prevent the digestion of that almond milk it's full of digestive enzyme inhibitors and it's really not full of many nutrients that humans can absorb because the nutrients in the almonds are chelated they're kind of they're bitten there's a molecule in almonds called phytic acid that bites onto minerals and prevents our absorption of most of the minerals and almonds
