so many brands are highly oxidized, tough to find a good fish oil.
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.

Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

it's just they're too volatile they're - there's too many aldehydes it's Russian roulette
I'm not as big a fan of fish oil because a lot of the supplements are rancid I'd rather get it in the phospholipid form rather than a triglyceride or ester form that a lot of the fish oils are formulated as
I'm not a fan of a fish oil supplements I've talked about this little in the past I think most of them are rancid and oxidized I wouldn't I universally take people off of them and recommend that they get the omega-3 from food
you will see that there is pretty good evidence that in these fish oil supplements you have a real problem with peroxidation and i'm going to explain what peroxidation is in a moment as well so in this article determination of lipid oxidation products in vegetable oils and marine omega-3 supplements very interesting what you find is that the contents of hydroperoxides and alkynales which i'm going to explain in a moment and omega-3 supplements are higher than in vegetable oils
hydroperoxides are the other thing that was talked about in that last article with the omega-3 fatty acids in fish and they are shown here it is an r group which is an organic molecule composed of a variety of carbons ooh rooh is a peroxide or a hydroperoxide molecule so you don't want these to happen in fish oil supplements and they're pretty high in fish oil supplements when they're checked because these are very unstable molecules
the peroxide values were measured and what they found the contents of hydr peroxides and alkenol which are oxidative products in Omega-3 supplements are higher than in vegetable oils after heating vegetable oils a large increase in alkenol concentrations was observed this is what I've been talking about fish oil supplements are very high in peroxides they're very oxidized
fish oils are omega-3 they're polyunsaturated fatty acids they're very highly unsaturated they're very fragile they oxidize almost immediately i've seen the coas for a lot of these they do have a significant amount of lipid peroxides in them
many fish oils, including top selling brands contain significant levels of oxidized lipids meaning that the fish oil is spoiled or rancid
Most fish oil is already oxidized on the shelf in levels beyond what's supposed to be regulatory standards. When we consume it, there's studies showing that just the digestive system alone will increase peroxidation substantially.
yeah I mean obviously you have to watch out for poor quality rancid supplements they they are unfortunately common the smaller the fish the better
FISH OIL pills are a massive scam A new study showed they are associated with cognitive decline in older adults. Fish oil pills and omega 3s are highly oxidized. Plus, human beings are WARM creatures, and when we take these pills they accumulate and oxidize in our bodies. They're like seed oils, but way worse. Avoid
