an ounce of liver is like the size of a silver dollar it's not a lot of liver you can imagine that even when i was with the hadza in tanzania we killed a baboon the baboon has a small liver like people are getting like an ounce you know half an ounce like that's not a small amount of liver to say that that is too much copper is a little crazy clinically i haven't seen people with copper overload from this at all
and i think that mechanistically we know that those metallothining proteins in the gut are fine as long as you're getting up zinc low and behold liver has plenty of zinc muscle meat that you're eating it has with has plenty of zinc
i think if you're eating liver in those moderate amounts you won't get copper toxic but very few people talk about copper deficiency and i think that that is also an issue for people
a small amount of liver I think has three or four milligrams of copper in it
