The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.
So it seems that in the appropriate dosage range, and with these one or two sessions, my assumption, and this again is an assumption, tell me if I'm right or wrong here, is that MDMA is not neurotoxic for serotonergic neurons at appropriate doses and with appropriate sourcing, et cetera.

And so, you know, there's data from experimental patients receiving this. There's data from people that are chronic users, you know, who only take MDMA. And that combination of data suggests that there's certainly no apparent risk in the kind of one to two to three dose range. And it's probably unlikely that at least, you know, modest dose exposure over a lifetime doesn't appear to have a profound neurocognitive damaging effect, yeah.
if we were to just take a step back from all the data the data in mice in rats and non-human primates the retraction of the study in non-human primates which showed that the primates that showed neurodegeneration were not given MDMA as it was thought by the researchers but rather as later was acknowledged we're actually given methamphetamine and we take into account these moderate and heavy users of MDMA who as far as we know are being honest and haven't taken any other drugs and we look at the clinical studies where people who have never taken MDMA are given one or two or three defined doses of pure MDMA we talk about those studies in a moment I think the Gestalt the top Contour the overall view of those studies is that provided it as pure MDMA and provided the individual is not consuming other drugs which have the potential to be neurotoxic and provided that it's being done in a controlled clinical setting the risk for toxicity seems quite a bit lower than the popular press has promoted
at reasonable Doses and we talked earlier about what those are at reasonable doses when not combined with other drugs it does not appear that MDMA is exceedingly neurotoxic
to date at least to my knowledge there don't seem to be any data in either non-human primates or in humans showing toxicity of MDMA at clinically relevant doses provided it is pure MDMA
