So, I mean, realistically, you can only get the thousand milligrams that I take a day from a supplement that's pure. ... And you ingest that with some fatty substance, like olive oil or yogurt, is that right?
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
When we included it with food, the levels in my blood went up five fold. And so you want to have something in there. If you just drink it with water, it's not going to get through.
What you mix or eat with resveratrol can increase blood levels ~5-fold
So what you need to do is we found in both mice and humans, mix it with some food. You can use yogurt, you can use that kind of olive oil, that kind of oily food, and it will dissolve. It's hydrophobic. This is the problem, it's scared of water.
Well, resveratrol is the equivalent of brick dust, it's really insoluble. If you put it in a glass of water it will fall to the bottom. if the resveratrol had greater absorption with and without fatty food that's resulted in bile acids secretion yeah well we didn't measure bile acids but we could definitely see by measuring blood levels resveratrol was getting on board when we gave some fat in the food
and that's true in humans that's why if I take resveratrol I do it with a something that's fatty flatly so some oil a yogurt it works really well
You made a good point, which is it's a really insoluble molecule and that's one of the... Well, there are two problems with resveratrol, one is it's really insoluble. So if you just give it as a dry powder to an animal or a human, it's less likely to get absorbed. We know that as a fact. Include it with a bit of fat, it'll go up five to tenfold in the bloodstream.
