I have trained 5X a week for 30 years with a 3:2 ratio of strength to endurance work or the reverse, depending.
I'm personally in the habit of getting cardiovascular exercise 3 or 4 times per week. Maybe 30-60 minutes per session. And I'm in the habit of doing resistance training 3 or 4 times per week, typically also for about 45 to 60 minutes per session.
if I train an hour a day-- 10 minutes of warm-up in 50 minutes to an hour of weight training or 50 minutes to an hour of cardio, feel great, especially if, once a week, I take a complete day off. That's sort of my general schedule.
