Single-cell RNA sequencing combined with CRISPR allows for simultaneous measurement of all RNA within a cell and the specific CRISPR modification it received, enabling the readout of consequences for inactivating every gene in the genome of T-cells.

“So we measure now simultaneously all of the the RNA that's in that cell telling us giving us a snapshot of what that cell is now able to do. And we can also simultaneously measure which crisper was put into that cell. And so now we can essentially inactivate every gene in the genome in T- cells and read out the consequences on the overall state of the cells.”
