Adding real-food carbs (fruit, honey) dramatically improved my testosterone, thyroid, sleep, energy, and workouts. That's not opinion; it's what my labs and how I feel show.
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

Adding back the least toxic forms of carbohydrates via fruit and honey got rid of cramps, improved my sleep and hormones.
i choose those as my sources of carbohydrates why because i think that if you think like a plant if you consider what a plant is trying to do it is going to put defense chemicals in the leaves it is going to put defense chemicals in the stems and it is certainly going to put defense chemicals in the roots or in the seeds which are the plant babies i am trying to get the smallest amount of plant defense chemicals in my diet because i want the most nutrients focusing on meat and organs and i want carbohydrates so i'm going to get that from fruit
it's made a massive difference in sleep mood exercise performance all of these things electrolyte issues are non-existent now all i have to do is use a sea salt in my diet in moderate amounts and my body doesn't have cramps it doesn't have palpitations i don't have sleep issues and like i said my hormones are back to where they should be with an accompanying libido
so those are the piece the data points that i would advance to say including carbohydrates in my diet in this whole food form fruit honey did not change my insulin sensitivity at all in fact it probably improved it somewhat because you need some phasic release of insulin my electrolyte issues got better my heart palpitations went away my testosterone came back to 800. i'm sleeping better
and for what it's worth my uric acid has been 4.6 or less than that when i've added back in fruit and honey
i'm not getting excess glycation i'm not damaging my endothelium my hscrp is low my fibrinogen is low my fasting insulin remains low
i got more muscular my muscles became more full my cramps went away my heart palpitations went away my sleep got better my testosterone is now back above 700
this i think is the key one of the key things that i learned in my journey from carnivore strictly to animal based that adding carbohydrates in improved my hormones as you'll see my thyroid my testosterone it improved my muscle cramps it improved my mental clarity it improved cardiac issues like heart palpitations which are related to electrolyte issues it improved so many things and my fasting insulin actually probably went down my fasting blood sugar went down when i added carbohydrates
today i've eaten i think i've eaten an entire papaya i've eaten close to an entire pineapple and i've probably had three to four tablespoons of honey already today and i haven't eaten dinner now dinner will probably be another 50 to 75 grams of carbohydrates but that's a lot of carbohydrates that i've already ingested
added fruit and honey to my diet... feel a lot better electrolytes got better cramps got better testosterone went back up... heart palpitations went away sex hormone binding globulin is cut in half testosterone's back up already said that and my sleep is better
i had horrible cramps palpitations my testosterone went down i slept like [ __ ] what did i do i had to back fruit and honey i didn't become insulin resistant or fat i just had everything get better
I will probably get about 300 G of carbohydrates every day from things like fruit watermelon oranges mango coconut water honey squash and that's how I feel the best that's how my hormones are the best that's how my sleep is the best how my recovery is the best
um to see my labs improve in many ways My fasting insulin stayed low My fasting blood sugar went down my A1C went down my muscle cramps went away my testosterone went up my sleep got better
