So that means 23 chromosomes, 22 autosomes, one so-called sex chromosome-- again, not sex the verb, at least not in this case. Sex, the verb, is a discussion we're going to have in a few minutes, but sex the noun. The sex chromosome can either be an X chromosome or a Y chromosome. So 22 autosomes and then one sex chromosome is going to be contained within the sperm because it's a haploid cell, not a diploid cell.
