saturated fat though it appears to raise ldl cholesterol may not be doing this in a pathological manner which is something that i've believed for many many years but that in fact this may be due to sort of what they call the homeobiscus model of um adaptation of dietary lipids in the cell membranes and that simply stated is that as we consume more saturated fats these become incorporated into our membranes and in order to keep the membrane at a certain constant level of fluidity the body may increase ldl levels and thus cholesterol into the membranes
