K2 (K2 in natto is from bacteria not soybeans)
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

there's not even vitamin k2 in soybeans it's from the bacteria that are fermenting the soybeans so the sources of these really critical nutrients k2 we talked about with rotterdam
where do you get vitamin k2 you almost exclusively get vitamin k2 from animal foods yes you can get vitamin k2 from fermented natto which is soybeans but it's not from the soybeans it's from the bacteria that are fermenting the soybeans so the bacteria will make vitamin k2
but the best way to get vitamin K2 is things like liver or egg yolks that is where you get this nutrient that is critical that is crucial for cardiovascular health
where do you get vitamin K2 you almost exclusively get vitamin K2 from animal Foods yes
k2 is menoquinone you've probably talked about this on your podcast but k2 is so freaking critical um for tooth health along with d and e and other fat soluble vitamins which are predominantly found in animal foods you can't get much of them if any in plant foods some people would say oh natto is fermented soybeans but the vitamin k2 and natto i believe is mostly mk7 not mk4 and i could be wrong but it's one of those two isoforms of metaquinone and mk4 is the one you really want and it's made by bacteria it's not made by the soybeans it's made by a fermentation process in the bacteria
vitamin k2 occurs almost exclusively in animal foods there's a little bit of vitamin k2 which tapes in many different forms mk1 through mk11 with mk4 being the most bioavailable probably the most bioactive form of menaquinone in humans though we see many different types of menoquinones that are considered to be vitamin k2 technically so what we find is that these are really only present in animal foods except perhaps something like natto which is fermented soybeans but it's not in the soybeans it's in product of the bacteria that are fermenting the soybeans
Vitamin K2 is a critical nutrient for humans found exclusively in animal foods. Some may say, "Wait, but natto." Yes, fermented soybeans have vitamin K2, but that's from the bacteria, not the soybeans.
some may argue that K2 is found in plant foods like NATO but technically speaking it's the bacteria that are fermenting those soybeans that are making the K2 not in the soybeans itself so there's really no menaquinone or any type of menaquinone found in plant foods and there are clear cardiovascular benefits to men quinone
unless you're eating Nat which is fermented soybeans and looks kind of gross you're not getting any vitamin K2 from plant Foods
some may argue that K2 is found in plant foods like NATO but technically speaking it's the bacteria that are fermenting those soybeans that are making the K2 not in the soybeans itself so there's really no menaquinone or any type of menaquinone found in plant foods
You can get vitamin K2 from plant foods if you want to eat fermented gross soybeans that look like snot. That's all MK7.
Can also get K2 direct from natto
there's two biologically active forms of vitamin K vitamin K1 which is found in plants and vitamin K2 which is produced by bacteria including the bacteria in our gut and also other bacteria that ferment Foods um natto the Japanese fermented soybean is probably the highest dietary source of vitamin K2
