i do not think that it is worth it i do not think it is correct to fear fructose in the food matrix
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

this is my concern with the fructose fear-mongering is that much of this in fact all of this concern about isolated fructose is just that it's concerned about isolated fructose fructose that is not found fructose fructose you say tomato acids motto fructose that is not found in a food matrix and those appear to perform very differently in research studies many of which i will show you during this during this podcast so this is a very important thing to contrast that fructose in isolation does not perform equivalently to fructose in fruit when we look at research studies yet nutritional reductionism is alive and well and so often fruit is vilified because it contains fructose but in many studies uh fruit has a very positive effect on the endothelium on the nitric oxide system etc cetera
so i do not think that it is worth it i do not think it is correct to fear fructose in the food matrix but a lot of people ask me what about maple syrup well think about it fruit is not going to hurt that have we seen in many of these studies and in fact may actually improve it
i think that what we're seeing here is perhaps a mechanism of evolutionarily consistent consumption of fructose in fruit with all the other compounds that come with it nitric oxide precursors et cetera honey with nitric oxide precursors

there is no downside to having fructose in your diet from natural sources there are so many studies showing benefits to fruit juice whether it's decreased oxidation of L improved endothelial function all sorts of benefits it's very hard to make a case that fruit and fruit juice are harmful for humans
There's lots of good studies showing that fruit juice is healthy and improves endothelial function. That's the little cells on the inside of your blood vessels. It decreases oxidation of cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and it decreases oxidative stress in the human body. A lot of fruit juices do that, whether it's orange juice, apple juice, watermelon juice, pomegranate juice, grape juice, cherry juice. Tons have been studied and they're invariably healthy.
Fructose consumed in that way looks very different in human physiology than free fructose, isolated fructose, or processed fructose that is high fructose corn syrup.
